WATCH THE VIDEO AND REPEAT:

"I WALK TO SCHOOL EVERY MORNING. I RARELY GO TO SCHOOL BY BUS.

I WALK AROUND MY GARDEN AND I ADMIRE THE FLOWERS,

THEN I WALK ACROSS THE PARK AND THROUGH THE CITY TUNNEL."

FROM - TO

We use FROM to say where someone or something starts:

  • I am from France. - Vengo dalla Francia.

We use TO to indicate a destination or direction:

  • I go to school. - Vado a scuola.

INTO - OUT OF

We use INTO when someone or something enters a space:

  • I put my toys into the box. - Metto i giochi nella scatola.

We use OUT OF when someone or something leaves a space:

  • I am going out of here. - Esco da qui.

OFF

We use OFF when someone or something goes away from someone or something:

  • Get your feet off the sofa. - Togli i piedi dal divano.
  • Get off the bus. - Scendi dall'autobus.

OFF can have other meanings too:

  • It's my day off. - è il mio giorno libero.
  • Off and on. - Di tanto in tanto.
  • Keep off the grass! - Non calpestare l'erba!

OVER - ROUND/AROUND

We use OVER when someone or something passes above someone or something:

  • I jumped over the wall. - Ho scavalcato il muro.

We use ROUND/AROUND when someone or something goes along its edge in a circular direction:

  • The earth goes round/around the sun. - La Terra gira intorno al sole.

ACROSS - THROUGH

We use ACROSS to show movement from one side to the opposite side:

  • The boys swim across the lake. - I ragazzi attraversano il lago.

We use THROUGH to show movement from one side of an enclosed space to the other side:

  • She drives through the tunnel. - Lei passa (guidando) attraverso la galleria.

BY

We use BY to say how we travel somewhere:

  • I go to school by bus. - Vado a scuola in autobus.
  • He is going to his office by car. - Sta andando in ufficio in macchina.
