Years

Follow these rules to read years in English:

921 = Nine twenty-one (9-21)
1066 = Ten sixty-six (10-66)
1600 = Sixteen hundred (16 - 100)
1996 = Nineteen ninety-six (19-96)

Dates

We have two ways to write and read dates:

  • April 1 / April 1st = April the first.
  • 1 April / 1st April = The first of April.

More examples:

  • May 3 / May 3rd = May the third.
  • 3 May / 3rd May = The third of May.
  • March 4 / March 4th = March the fourth.
  • 4 March / 4th March = The fourth of March.
