What are personal pronouns?
Personal pronouns are pronouns (words that replace a noun) and can be either subject or object in a sentence.

We use subject pronouns as the subject of a verb, object pronouns as the object of a verb and reflexive pronouns when the subject and the object of a sentence are the same.

What is a subject pronoun?

We define subject pronouns as pronouns, that are used as subject of a verb.

Here's the list of the subject pronouns in English:

  • I
  • YOU
  • HE - SHE - IT
  • WE
  • YOU
  • THEY

 

Now, let's find out some examples

  • I am tired.
  • It is a cat.
  • She is very nice!

 

We use "IT" when the subject of the verb doesn’t refer to anything in particular:

  • It is cold.
  • It is late.

Object pronouns are pronouns that serve as the object of a verb. We put them after prepositions.

What are reflexive pronouns?

In English, reflexive pronouns are a type of pronouns used when the subject and the object of a sentence are the same.
